This Finnish Lapland hotel is located on both the Ivalo River and the E75 motorway. It offers free WiFi access, an indoor swimming pool and free evening sauna access. A traditional Finnish restaurant and bar are on site.

Classic décor, satellite TV and a small fridge are standard to Hotel Ivalo’s guest rooms. Each has a seating area and private bathroom with shower. Iron facilities can be rented from the reception.

Lappish specialities and river views can be enjoyed from Ivalo’s restaurant. Guests can also relax by the cosy fireplace lounge.

Nice stay if you are not renting a car

The location was amazing and very well connected as the bus stand and supermarket were just a few 100 meters away.

The hotel could be more creative and thoughtful about the lighting. In the evening when there are chances of the Aurora Borealis the back side of the hotel had some disturbing lights which should be turned off.

Really nice location and value for money is incredible

Breakfast was great very traditional finish breakfast. Had amazing fruit. The room was colder than we expected. But they had good blankets so it was manageable.

Good quality for price, excellent location.

Rooms are warm and clean. The hotel offers a restaurant and breakfast. It is in a convenient position and you can easily see the northern lights from your room. There is a beautiful view from some rooms.

The hotel is not modern and there are not many food options at the restaurant and during breakfast.

Good value for money and comfortable stay. Not the most modern or luxurious place, but very nice.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Even when my original flight was canceled and I had to take a later one and there was a delay with the airport transfer.

Good location, the room was clean and the staff very friendly. We had a nice view on the river and it was quite calm overall.

Breakfast could be better, and it is a shame that the sauna / pool are only open from 6 to 8pm.

A very suitable place to stay for families in Northern Finland, even in summer, with excellent additional leisure opportunities. Comfortable rooms, very kind staff. A rich selection for breakfast.

The staff was polite, helpful and professional always willing to assist. We wish to mention especially the reception staff and in the Club Nord, William (guide) and the club receptionist- Mrs. Sisko.

The WiFi in our room was nonexistent.

Solo traveller

Location is very good, my room had river view and it is only 20 min walk from the small downtown area and the back door the hotel faces a big frozen river for all kind of winter activities (northern lights watching right at the hotel, cross-country skiing, snowmobile, snow-shoeing, etc) several of those activities one can practice at no-cost. The hotel has an office from where one can also choose and book lots of activities and the lady in charge is very kind and helpful. Breakfast is very good with lots of food options. The restaurant is open almost the whole day to eat buffet menu or a la carta from 15hrs. I tried several nicely cooked regional dishes. Very friendly atmosphere, family oriented but also good for solo travellers. Ladies at the front desk are also very helpful

Great place for nature and sport lovers.

Great place for sport lovers. You can start cross country skiing right from at the hotel entry. The sauna is nicely hot and the swimming pool is really cold (super pleasant!). Our room had a marvellous river view.

Breakfasts were tasty - vegetarians can also be satisfied :-) - but if you stay longer, you might want a bit more variation. The WiFi covered only the reception area and the rooms in the vicinity.

Nice clean rooms, well located hotel.

Pretty basic. Everything felt a bit old. Breakfast was very basic, with not a lot of choice.

Very nice location, really cozy hotel, would recommend 100%.

Breakfast was fine, restaurant was amazing! Sauna and pool were nice, but only open for 2 hours a day..

Too expensive for the amenities.

Overall satisfactory and friendly. Reasonable VFM

Fine a stopover and the staff most helpful. Breakfast was satisfactory but not as good as it might have been. No fried eggs for instance. Dinner from the menu was however very good. The older rooms are lovely and due to their heritage have ambience. The more spacious rooms do not have river views so not worth the extra money!

Breakfast was lack lustre.
